I was inspired by this post from David duChemin, a very well known and respected photographer whose blog I now follow ritualistically, to create a similar type of post.
I’ll cut straight to the chase. The purpose of this entry is to give you all a chance to enter into a random draw into which you may win a free photo shoot from yours truly.
What’s In It For Me?
Quite simply, I wish to get my name out there and gain more exposure for myself. The more exposure I gain the greater chances I have of finding work. And the more work I find the longer I can keep photography as a profession instead of finding a “real job”.
What’s In It For You?
The winner of this Giveaway Thing, and there will only be one, will receive a free 1 hour photo session of any type at a location within Richmond. (I am willing to travel elsewhere but there will be a fee involved.) There will of course be limits to how complicated the shoot is allowed to be. Something like this for example is slightly out of the question…
That being said, family and friend portraits of up to 4 people are an option for the winner. So if all of you enter your names into the draw and specify beforehand that you’re all part of the same group, that will quadruple your chances of winning.
In the end the winner will receive 3 retouched high resolution digital images. The rest of your photos will be offered as watermarked jpegs.
Oh and one last thing, you can offer this as a gift to someone if you choose.
So, How Do You Enter to Win All This Prizey Goodness?
All the contestants will need to fulfill two requirements to be eligible.
- You and the people you enter this contest with will need to join the Raymond Chou Photography Facebook page if you haven’t done so already.
- Again to model this off of David duChemin’s entry, you will need to post an image of your business card in the “Photoshoot Giveaway Submissions” gallery on my fan page. For the duration of this contest, fans are allowed to add photos to albums. It can be a scan or a photograph. If you don’t have actual business cards, a picture of a piece of paper with your full name on it will do. All I really need is an image that has your full name on it. And to adopt another one of Mr. duChemin’s practices, “the top ten most creative images will get bonus points and entered twice, doubling your chances: Photoshoot Giveaway Submission album
Remember that chances of winning are based upon the number of entries. So if you’re the only one that entered (although I hope that doesn’t happen because I will cry if that is the case) then you automatically win!
Please do not email me your cards nor enter simply with your name typed out, because they will not be considered. Submitting your photo to the “Photoshoot Giveaway Submissions” album is the only form of entry.
How the draw is going to work is that I will write down all the names of the contestants on scrap pieces of paper and do a classic paper out of the hat draw. And if I get enough entries, I will also VIDEOTAPE the actual drawing and post the video on this fan page so you will all know who the winner is.
The drawing will take place on November 23rd and the winner will be announced shortly thereafter.
